Tire service

Truck tire replacement where the truck is standing

Titan Tow & Repair replaces commercial truck and trailer tires where the vehicle sits, across Kansas City and northwest Missouri, 24 hours a day. We carry tires on the service truck and handle the wheel-end work that comes with a blowout — steer, drive and trailer positions, on tractors, trailers, hot shots and box trucks.

A blown tire is the most common thing that stops a truck, and the one most often fixed on the shoulder. We bring the tire to you rather than the truck to a shop.

How it runs

From your call to the truck moving

01

Tell us the position and the size

Which axle, inside or outside dual, and the size off the sidewall if you can read it safely. That decides what comes on the truck.

02

We bring the tire to you

Roadside, dock, yard or scale. Say if you are in a live lane — that changes the priority, not the price.

03

Fitted and checked

Torqued properly and the wheel end looked over, because a blowout rarely damages only the tire.

Other services

Heavy-duty towing

A loaded tractor-trailer is not a bigger car. It needs a rated wrecker, a rated operator and a plan before anything gets hooked. That is what we send.

Mobile truck repair

Our service truck carries the parts and the tools. Faster for your driver, cheaper for your office, and the load keeps moving.

Trailer repair

Most trailer faults do not stop a trailer moving. They stop it being legal to move, which is worse — the load sits while the paperwork says it cannot go anywhere.

Mobile tire service questions

Do you carry tires on the truck, or do you have to fetch one?

We carry tires. The reason we ask for the size and position on the phone is so the right one is on the truck when it leaves rather than after a second trip — the common sizes cover most calls, and an unusual size is worth knowing about before we set off instead of when we arrive. Read the sidewall if you can do it safely from the right side of the vehicle, and tell us which axle and whether it is an inside or outside dual. That one detail is the difference between a single road call and two.

Can a truck tire be repaired instead of replaced?

Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly which one you have. A clean puncture in the tread area of a sound casing is often repairable. What is not repairable is a sidewall injury, a casing that has been run flat and heat-damaged, or a blowout that has already shredded — and a repair on any of those is a failure waiting for the next load. Steer positions get the most conservative call of all, because a steer failure at speed is the one that does not end with a phone call.

How fast can you get a tire to a truck on the interstate?

From the Liberty yard we are typically 20 to 45 minutes to most of the metro and the corridors that cross it, traffic and weather depending, and you get a real number on the phone rather than an optimistic one. What speeds it up is knowing the position and size before we roll. What slows it down is a live-lane situation needing traffic management first — tell us where you are sitting relative to the white line, because on a shoulder call that decides how we approach as much as how fast.
