US-36 is the road that ties St. Joseph back to our side of the state: east it runs to Cameron and the I-35 junction, which is one of the two ways we come up. West it leaves Missouri on the Pony Express Bridges over the Missouri River into Elwood, Kansas. A unit that stops on a river bridge has nowhere safe to sit, so that call is about getting it moved rather than getting it worked on.
Almost everything that goes down up here is commercial and a great deal of it is loaded, because the city runs on food processing and the distribution traffic that feeds it.
